Pretty Women... Darn...
Two nights ago, a guitarist and and I wrote a song.
Following in the paths of the bands "Stolen Bread is Better", "Guerra Duo Some", and "The Confederacy of Funk," This guitarist and I decided to write a song about one topic that everyone can relate to and love... Me...
The songs about me are so far titled: "The Hawaiian Vampire"; untitled piece; "The Glum Chum"; and this new one...
I wish we had been recorded when we sang this last night, but until I get a recording here is the poem/lyrics.
Verse 1:
Sometime not too long ago
Scooning lake Ontario
Chris Cunningham made a pilgrimage
He’d a mission well in mind
Leaving all his friends behind
And to himself he made this simple pledge
“I go forward on a quest this day
To chase the loneliness away
And find that which makes truly me full
With all the curves I find so sweet
I will search until I meet
The one to whom my heart faithfully pulls”
Fake chorus:
Hey, Ho!
Searching lake Ontario
All I found were pretty women
Hey, Ho!
Chris Cunningham is afloat
Traveling the lake in his boat
Hey!!
Verse 3:
Battling through storms and waves
Escaping sexy mermaid caves
And Sirens tried to call him with their song
But he would not accept defeat
He searched for waffles he could eat
And all he found were pretty women… Darn…
Real chorus:
Hey, Ho!
Where did that Waffle Island go?
All I found were pretty women… Darn
Hey, Ho!
Chris Cunningham is afloat
Searching for his waffle island
Hey!!
Verse 4:
Though his boat was nearly torn apart
He still had longing in his heart
To go on ‘til he could barely stand
Like a modern day Odysseus
Through death and famine he persists
Searching for that Waffle Island… Island!
Real chorus:
Hey, Ho!
Where did that Waffle Island go?
All I found were pretty women… Darn
Hey, Ho!
Chris Cunningham is afloat
Searching for his waffle island
Hey!!

YES!! Back online and back into your dreams...
It has taken forever, but I've finally got cable/internet.
The move to Hamilton went okay, and I now live on the 9th floor of a building with only 8 floors.
Still need to arrange all my furniture in a reasonable way, but slow progress. Was given a couch today by work associates. Now all I need is a couch to replace the hammock as guest seating.
I have also started my job working as a field technician for Archaeologix or something like that. Screening dirt for churt flakes. Oh the excitement and the dirt. Good people on the crew though, some nerdy, and some just crazy. I fit into the groove pretty quick...
Friend Shona introduced me to the biggest hippies in the area last night as well, and sweet damn that was crazy/fun. Hippies rock.
Man, I have felt so isolated without the internet for communication. WOO!!
The GlumChum takes on Steel Town...
Stay tuned...

I've finally started packing... and ranting...
With only 4 days before I must vacate this living space, I've finally begun to pack up 3 years of my life. I have nowhere to go, but I can't stay here. Sucks doesn't it?!
Going through several years of your life and packing it away is always strange. It's like stumbling backwards randomly through your memories as each long since hidden item reminds you of the past. So many people I wish I still was in contact with, or those that I still am but never see.
I found a phone number for a guy who was a great and close friend of mine 3 years ago right before I moved up here. I've been thinking about calling, under the strange and unlikely thought that if he was still there we could meet again.
I also found a candle that a dear friend gave me my first year in this town. The note on it says: "Hey Chris! I hope you don't mind that I let myself in. I wanted to give you something. Lilies are supposed to relieve stress. I thought you might like the smell of some. Call me when you get home. I'm worried about you. Best wishes and good luck! Love Casey. P.S. HUG!"
I have no idea, no memory of what this is/was about. Maybe I'd rather not remember. But this is from someone that I've lost contact with. I for the life of me, can't think of why that happened, and that is really bothering me right now.
I know of some people who live in this town that I haven't seen in half of forever, but I always hoped that I'd run into them randomly on the streets one day. Packing up my life and getting ready to leave this town makes this all the more unlikely.
My life is in a state of flux... Aren't all of ours?
I really have no idea what I'm doing, or where I'm going...
I think I need this candle and its flame from the past... Weird how the mind connects things that way...

Some images from Arrrrrr...
Well I'm taking a break from working on Glo's Robotic Possum drawing, to give an update on that game I mentioned doing some voice work for.
Arrrrrr!
It is me... It's like looking into a vocal mirror...
I assume this is part of the game...
So there you have it...

Your hook is pitiful and small ya scurvy infested sea-dog!!
Yesterday I woke up and spent the day moving my sisters stuff from Toronto to Barrie to be put in storage. As one might assume, it was a treat. Though I did get to see my aunt/her family which was nice.
After that day I was quite tired, and planning an early sleep at 10 o'clock. This was not to be however, as at 9 something in the PM, I was contacted by my friend Marilyn (the lady I've mentioned who was born without tonsils or an appendix). She was excited to bring me an opportunity to mix two of my loves, voice-over work and pirates. Seems her associate is making a pirate themed game and needed some characters still and she demanded he give me a chance. Ah, women and their control over us...
So I tried a few voices and sent him clips, and he liked it, and gave me a list of instructions/lines. And I spent 5 hours, until 2:30ish, recording variations of them all. They're all insults/taunts against the other pirates.
You know, I still don't know much else about this game, but Maryl said she'd keep me up to speed, and that she/he loved my work.
My throat was already sore and coughy before I started that, so now is really raw.
But...
Man that was fun...
