Pirate Fest

The weekend was quite a bit of fun...
Grayson and I went to Toronto on Friday to go to the Pirate Festival... Little did we think about the fact that the Pirate Festival was nay open on that day.

But no worries... We went to a busker festival in Toronto and saw some interesting and weird shows, including the big fire show where the buskers pooled their talents for the charity that was hosting the event. Oddly enough, the man doing the MC'ing of this show was a roommate of my sisters who does skateboard tricks with fire - like jumping through a flaming star. Later in the evening when I was about to crash for the night, I ran into him in the house and told him I had followed him home after the show. Hehe...

The next day Grayson and I went to the Pirate festival, good fun that was... We met new friends, and old... and drank and sang...

Then Grayson caught a ride home with some folks, and I went back to Laura's place. I walked into the backyard eating some shwarma and there was 4 of her roommates and their friends having a party. One of them told me, "Get a beer and come back outside!" Being a large mooch, I was quite prepared to comply. Many beers and other things later... I was quite smashed, and finally crashed...

All in all... A good weekend...

Boring Weekend... But with drawing...

For whatever reason, I've been bored all weekend... With a job I've been looking for all summer finally starting tommorow morning at 8:30, I decided to flex my creative muscles before I got bugged down with the dredge of work. For those familiar with the Twenty Thousand Under the Sea League this will make sense... (i.e. to me this will make sense, and maybe grayson if he ever comes by)

I won't bore you with the who's who of the outter ring. The middle however is Sherriff Grayson, Alex, the 207 year Ol' Man Evan, Glum Chum who was turned into a lizard man in the year 3 billion by dinosaurs (i.e. me), my alien lizard race wife, Cullen the cyborg, Evan's ghost, and even Jesus himself joined us for a time...

Man... Good times...

Comics that will never be finished...

Some of these comics I drew almost a year ago. The guy I used to draw these things with and I have not seen each other in just over a year, so that's the why. With no one to finish them they will stay forever unended. They're just never as good when I complete them myself. Tis a shame... They're so crazy...

I drew this about a month into last school year, while three of my fingers were bandaged up and swollen from 2nd degree burns. The lack of change in quality is noted in the comic...

For whatever reason, I thought up the line "Time to take out the grass!" and well the rest came from there...

Spif the Gnat was the first comic I drew, then since we forgot his name he became Skif. Here I had decided to write his family reunion. Uh... Hurray!

Yes, believe it or not, there was another comic about the duo of a Rabbi and an evil plant of doom...

Well this one, oddly enough, was inspired by the time that Joseph and I attended a friends statistics class dressed as pirates.

About a month ago, digging through my comics I found this one. More precisely I found that middle panel, and understood why I'd never finished this thing some 2 years ago. I didn't feel like drawing up a story, so I took random events from other comics, edited them together, and this seems to work out rather well...

If any one out there wants to finish these, that would be fantastic... I just want to see em...

Freakin false fire-alarms batman!!

So I went to bed at 4:30ish this morning, and was sleeping in my blissful unconcious state, when out of nowhere did I here the siren sound of the fire alarms in my apartment for only about 12 seconds. As no one is currently upstairs, and I was sleeping, I assumed my roommates were cooking, but went to check and found nothing. Since there are like 17 fire alarms spread about this house that all go off if one of them does, I checked all of them to see which had some sort of smoke and found NOTHING! It's not like I wanted my apartment to be on fire, but I gave up and went back to sleep.

Woke up again at 10:56, 12:15, and 12:43 when the damn things went off again. I have no freakin clue what was setting them off, there was no fire or smoke here.

Well I've actually gotten a report on what was going on. There have been a number of mini-brownouts this morning, and every time this occured the fire alarms sounded to let me know they were on.

Ive also just heard reports that its going to be the hottest day of the year and insane humidity... Also that they fear another of those giant blackouts... Sigh...
