Drunken Toga'd Weekend

Not the best picture of me, or my toga, but its the only one I've been sent so far...

Man was it an awesome weekend in Toronto. My plans to meet up with Kelly on friday fell through, and my sis was going out on a date. I met up with my bro and his friend Rob for a couple of pints before they were off to a concert. We wandered up and down College street in "Little Ethnic" until we actually found a pub, not a restaurant or cafe... Good Cider at the one we chose... If I knew what the hell it was, I'd switch from my Strongbow.

I walked with them to the club the Swollen Members concert was at. There were still tickets available, so I went in and watched the show. It was surprisingly good. The band was awesome, and was really cool about people coming on stage. Security attempted to remove the first guy who surfed up there, and the band stopped him. They were giving people the mike, singing along with arms around em... and during the last song I swear there were 40 people on stage... Good show... After which my brother went home for 2 hrs of sleep before he had to go to work, and I went to my sisters house and got stoned with her busker roommate...

The following night was the Toga Party... It wasn't as insane and big as the halloween party, and thats a good thing for someone like me. I wasn't wasted out of my mind, and dead the next day... and this time I had a couch to sleep on at someones house... There were a lot of people in Togas, and those that weren't were losers anyway... So much fun... So drunk... So stoned... Good times...

There was also a drunken walk down College St in Togas at 2:30am to get some of the best pizza ever at Amatto's... Suffice to say, we got some comments and questions. Graeme and I really should have brought one of the girls with us, it would have looked better... But they were all somewhat cold, exposing more skin than the guys to the night air and all...

All in all... good weekend... glad to have that sort of fun, considering today (3:03am right before sleep on today) is my birthday, but everyone is busy with essays and such...

And hell, this is the first time in 5 years I didn't have to write an essay this night that was due on my birthday...

I really don't miss it...

She Stir-Fried My Heart - Man was it tasty!!

It's been 1 year and 2.5 months since the last time I made stir-fry or really bothered cooking anything for myself that didn't only require microwaving or cookie-sheet ovening...

During O-week last year I was in the middle of making stirfry when I accidently scalded my hand up with boiling hot oil. Suffice to say, getting back on the horse psychologically has taken me much longer than it should have. Today, I finally said "screw it, get you're damned act together!"

Spicy sausages, red peppers, red onion, zuchinni, and sweet chili sauce on rice...

Turned out really well... Healthier than my usual eatings, and so tasty...
Alex you'd be so proud...

Good day, but man am I out of shape...

Well my job ended last friday, which is a shame... However, I was given a glowing reference and card and stole a bunch of office supplies. Today was a day of unemployment and not knowing what to do with myself.

I went to the mall, but finding nothing of interest returned home. In a crazy but happy coincidence I saw my friends Evan and Adam from my old Brantford days that I hadn't seen in person in like two years. I jumped off the bus and began running like a madman towards where I had seen them. Despite them walking into the university I managed to recognize them in the distance, and reached them panting like I'd run a marathon and clutching at my chest in pain. Yeah, then I had a heart attack and died... Oh wait, that part didn't happen...

They were just on break from class, but afterwords we went to dinner at the China Garden and discussed old times as well as what had been going on since we'd last seen each other... Really nice to see those guys again...

Then when they'd driven off to Brantford for their dodgeball game (I'm not kidding, they're in a league) I ran over to the Bricker building and stole all the free food I could grab before the speaker's Muslim Perceptions in the post 9/11 world speech/discussion (i.e. the same discussion the religion department always seems to have) But man that was a lot of good free vegetables and fruit...

Now to sit around my apartment and draw things...
Good day...
